TWD : Maple Corn Biscuits

Lately our cat Cagliostro has decided to wake me up around four in the morning so yesterday, not before feeding him and another nap with him, I decided it was the right occasion for baking these biscuits for breakfast !

They were chosen by Lindsay from A Little Something… Sweet ; I never ate 'real' biscuits or scones and I have no idea of how White Lily flour feels but I thought these biscuits were so good I'm glad, for my diet's sake, that I only made half batch and that my children and husband loved them too !!
Please visit Lindsay for the recipe and the TWD site for more biscuits.

TWD : Tender Shortcakes

This wonderful shortcake was baked thanks to Cathy of The Tortefeasor, she says she was not actually there when she chose this recipe but apparently it was a wonderful pick for everyone (I should try her method next month !).
These shortcakes are very fast to put together and can be frozen until 15 minutes before you need them, I made half batch but now I repentish, I was afraid I would have the issues I had with biscuits ( I can't really tell you the difference between Shortcakes and biscuits ) , but they were easy and super delicious !!!
If you never met Cathy hurry up here you'll find the recipe and a lot of very great posts to enjoy.
Please visit the other bakers to see what wonders were baked this week !

TWD : Sweet Cream Biscuits

This time it was Melissa of Love at First Bite

who chose this recipe and not knowing exactly how a biscuit should look and reading the P&Q I learned a few things but maybe not enough ! As you can see my biscuits are barely holding together because I was afraid of overdoing it, and I sprinkled them with muscobado sugar as Mary did (she used maple sugar).
Anyway we enjoied them with jam (no butter for me !) and loaded with whipped cream and strawberries !! Please visit Melissa for the recipe and the other bakers for beautiful biscuits !

TWD Sweet Potatoes Biscuits

This is how I started the TWD recipe this month and I hope I got the right root !! We call them American Potatoes (I know they are all American ...). No way we could find them canned so I steamed IT in the pressure cooker and mashed it well.

I confess these are the first biscuits I've ever made and eaten so I didn't know what to expect... I liked them warm (no butter please ! from my fattening body) but I tasted to much the metallic aftertaste of the Italian Baking Powder !
Thanks to Erin of Prudence Pennywise for introducing me to the world of biscuits (and of sweet potatoes!) . Please visit the site for many gorgeous biscuits !!
