Ingredients
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup (packed) light brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 4 ounces English toffee candy (recommended: Heath or Skor bar), finely chopped
- 1 cup hazelnuts, toasted, husked, and chopped
- 1 (12-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Line 2 heavy large baking sheets with parchment paper. Finelychop the oats in a food processor. Transfer the oats to a medium bowl. Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars in a large bowl until fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add the flour mixture and stir just until blended. Stir in the toffee, hazelnuts, and chocolate chips.
For each cookie, drop 1 rounded tablespoonful of dough onto sheet, spacing 1-inch apart (do not flatten dough). Bake until the cookies are golden (cookies will flatten slightly), about 15 minutes. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for 5 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack and cool completely. (The cookies can be prepared 1 day ahead. Store airtight at room temperature.)

I have never tried hazelnuts with chocolate chip cookies. I'm always willing to try new things. Thanks for sharing.
These look so good! I love hazelnuts! Never thought of adding them to chocolate chip cookies.
Those cookies look great. You can never have too many chocolate chip cookie recipes!
Oh, I like your idea of balance...these sound thoroughly addicting! YUM :)
Yay! It's all about balance!
Love the cookies, delish. ☺
I have heard so many wonderful things about these cookies! Glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed them. They are definitely on my list of things to cook during our 6 months with Giada.
Am running a tad behind on posting. Yep, I am. Making the Hachis whatever it is today and the TWD pie but then I have to work the next two days, so am thinking I will just be behind this week until Thursday...FALL BREAK!! I read the last four posts, because I am behind on commenting over here as well, and loved them all. The Dorie surprise, the Challah (oh my is that gorgeous in color and texture and shape) and these cookies...all of it excellent. You rock. Hope you are having a great week. See you back here soon.
These look so amazing. The next time I happen across some reasonably-priced hazelnuts, I know what I'm doing with them.
These look dangerously delicious. No wonder you ate them all!
These cookies look great Natalaia!
Mi piace la combinazione: li farò provare ai bambini durante questo lungo wee-end di novembre!Monica
These look great - yes, oats with toffee bars is a perfect balance, just like the way that there are no calories if you mix white chocolate and dark chocolate together since they cancel each other out :-)
