TWD Sweet Potatoes Biscuits

This is how I started the TWD recipe this month and I hope I got the right root !! We call them American Potatoes (I know they are all American ...). No way we could find them canned so I steamed IT in the pressure cooker and mashed it well.

I confess these are the first biscuits I've ever made and eaten so I didn't know what to expect... I liked them warm (no butter please ! from my fattening body) but I tasted to much the metallic aftertaste of the Italian Baking Powder !
Thanks to Erin of Prudence Pennywise for introducing me to the world of biscuits (and of sweet potatoes!) . Please visit the site for many gorgeous biscuits !!

Oh, yours do look yummy. I know what you mean about the baking powder taste-sometimes I get that with mine too. Biscuits and muffins both. Anyway, thanks for baking along!

Do you have self-raising flour? It might not have the aftertaste. At least yours rose high and fluffy.

It's too bad the taste was not great, But your pictures make them look tasty! You are quite the devoted baker for putting so much work into these! :)

They look like they turned out very nice! Too bad about the metallic taste, though. I bet some butter would help them taste better :)

Ciao Natalia! Good for your for braving the sweet potato in its raw form to make these biscuits! How disappointing that you got the metallic taste (maybe from baking powder?)

Our trip has taken on a life of its own. I'm joining the family late (due to work) and will only be in Rome for a day and a half before we head to Venezia and Paris. I promise to stop by next time I'm there (I hope there is a next time!) Maybe I'll come alone and we can go grocery shopping (my favorite sightseeing in foreign countries). You're the best for offering to meet up!

XO
Leslie

I think you did a great job.

We forget how foreign American food is in other countries and we take it for granted.
