BBA Sourdough Bagels

Last week on our Crazy and Funny 'Bread Baker's Apprentice' group we baked Bagels !
Since I lived in the U.S. I haven't had bagels exept when some friends came and were amazed at my request to bring me some bagels. I really love them and must admit that mine weren't as good as the real thing ....but this leads me to give them more than another trial .
Please visit the BBA Challenge all the others results are stunning !

I think they look great! Mine looked not so pretty...but they tasted good! I am going to try them again- and next time boil them when they're ready'

Um, I hate to tell you this, but these look perfect. You must have incredibly high standards!

I throw away my sourdough out of the windows.
I became crazy with it so...evviva il lievito di birra!
your bagels don't look so terrible as you've said and may I have one?

You know what they say about an ugly tomato ...
Maybe it's a good thing we don't love everything we make ;)

They look great. Some of mine were flat. Tasty but chewy. I plan to make them again too.
Nice baking along with you,
Susie

Look at you making sourdough bagels! So impressed... I would miss bagels if I couldn't get them. We loved this recipe and I will make them again.

I will be happy to add you to our slow group, Natalia. When I get my computer working better I will try to send you the little calendar for posting. Basically we are posting every two weeks, with some time off for holidays. I think that Twitter is international - twitter.com

And thanks for your kind offer to send me flour! I do have a local source for real imported Italian 00 flour (I used it for the Italian Knots) but I was curious to see if that bakery had it also. As for chestnut flour, I ordered some from Amazon, and it's sitting in my drawer waiting for Autumn baking!
