TWD : Thumbprints for Us Big Guys

I'm finally back !!! After two (or three) hard weeks in which I baked but didn't post I'm finally starting to post something. These wonderful cookies were chosen by Mike of Ugly Food for an Ugly Dude and their name makes me smile because Carlo and Anita almost finished them .... (Andrea had to hide a few) so we've grown up quite a bit lately.
I used a blueberry jam just because I was so sure I had the raspberries one but when I was ready for it I found blueberries', cherries', strawberries', guava' (!!!), chestnuts' but no raspberries' so I went for the blueberries' one because there was no way I was going out in the terrible wheather we are having lately !

I read in the P&Q section of TWD 's site that the holes were closing during baking, so I tried filling them with the ceramic balls and some beans

and it worked !!
Please visit all the Baker's and if you would like to try the recipe head to Mike's blog !

  1. Welcome back Natalia!

Great idea to use the beans while baking, I'm sure that was easier than pushing them in again. I love raspberry jam! Your cookies are making me hungry for more. :)

  3. Welcome back! You are so smart to think of using weights to keep the thumbprints from spreading. What a great idea. I think that the blueberry jam sounds lovely in these cookies, and I'm happy that your family enjoyed them.

  4. Welcome back! Great idea to use weights to keep these guys from flattening out. I don't know why, but mine held their shape.

  10. Welcome back - weights! Now there's an ingenious idea. If it works for pie crusts, why not? Beautiful thumbprints!

  14. Welcome back! Lovely thumbprint cookies! In Australia we call these Jam Drops and bake the cookies with the jam already in the hole. They are such favourites.
